Ex-cadets feedback: Boris Zubkov

"After my 5th year of education at the Academy I had the wonderful opportunity of having my practice with the Maersk Company. This was a very nice and useful experience. It was the first time that I was able to meet foreign seafarers and to work with them. I was very surprised and impressed by the good attitude of all the crew members towards me. Some of them really helped me to get used to a mixed crew and to life on a new vessel. Despite the long period of the practice, time flew by very fast as every day I learned new and useful information concerning my future job and future responsibilities. While the ship was docked at ports I had the chance to go ashore with other crewmembers to do some sightseeing, to taste the local foods and to take a lot of photos.
Our life on board did not only consist of work. I spent my rest hours in a well-equipped gym, and every evening the crewmembers and I watched movies and played various games. When the weather was good we went swimming in the swimming pool and sunbathed on the upper decks of the accommodation.

After graduation from the Academy I would like to start my professional career with the Maersk Company, as today there are few companies with such a high level of experience and with such a good reputation. Being a part of a stable and constantly developing international organization is a good start for every young seafarer and it also can be a new step in my life."
